This guitar is about 3 months old. Just pulled it out of its case today and saw this (it has never been damaged or dropped. I think it's the glue joint...) :
The reason I think that is because it starts right where the top is glued to the body - and I can't see what's under there. I reached out to Sweetwater and I'll also reach out to PRS!I don't think there is a glue joint in that part of the guitar. I would contact PRS customer service and send them pictures. They may replace the guitar or fix it.
I am pretty sure that is a solid piece in that part of the side of the guitar. The reason I think that is because it starts right where the top is glued to the body - and I can't see what's under there. I reached out to Sweetwater and I'll also reach out to PRS!

Yes.Even on SE models?
Not a glue joint there, and also...no glue joint is that jagged unless its there to repair a broken piece of wood. This guitar is about 3 months old. Just pulled it out of its case today and saw this (it has never been damaged or dropped. I think it's the glue joint...) : View attachment 35884
Wood cracks. Are you in a cold/dry climate? Also, finishes crack. Can you confirm the crack is in the wood and not just the finish? This is contrary to what y'all are saying, but there is either a legit crack in the body on the inside, or it's a joint - I can't take a solid picture with my phone of it though.
I am betting that the piece of wood has cracked. Maybe it was in an very dry environment for a while and cracked? This is contrary to what y'all are saying, but there is either a legit crack in the body on the inside, or it's a joint - I can't take a solid picture with my phone of it though.
If it's brand new, you can file a warranty claim with PRS.This guitar is about 3 months old. Just pulled it out of its case today and saw this (it has never been damaged or dropped. I think it's the glue joint...) : View attachment 35884
I am sure they will take care of it. They are good about things like that.If it's brand new, you can file a warranty claim with PRS.
I had a bridge split on a PRS SE acoustic within the warranty period and they took good care of me.
none of that looks good.
I am confident they will take care of you. Sweetwater is a good company. If they don't take care of you, you are within your warrantee period and PRS will make it right. It's dry here - New England weather. I get it can happen, just never happened to me before. I'm 99% sure I have a crack in the horn, ugh. Here's to hoping I can get PRS or Sweetwater to help me out.
I'm also in New England. You were smart to keep it in the case. But the rate at which the air dries out up here between September and the end of the year absolutely makes me weary of owning a solid wood acoustic (why I sold my D-18). I would have thought this guitar the wood would be thick enough to avoid cracking but maybe not -- maybe come up with a way to chuck these or something similar in the case after PRS gets it sorted? It's dry here - New England weather - not exposed to the elements or anything though. 100% that's gonna happen - I've never had any issue with acoustic guitars in the 20 or so years of playing here, this is actually my first hollowbody - I keep it in the case for that reason to be honest - my solid bodies have to suck it up lol. Regardless, humidifiers are in my future.I'm also in New England. You were smart to keep it in the case. It has been terrible this past week - the week before that it was in the 60sMy nose just started burning and my hands just started cracking thinking about Winter in New England.

I have been down here for 13 years. I don't miss the cold, snow or dryness at all, not even a little bit.My nose just started burning and my hands just started cracking thinking about Winter in New England.
