Compact "FRFR" for home?

Quality and frequency response can still vary greatly. I wouldn't expect the Headrush to be flat or good sounding based on their past products. I would have to hear one in person before plopping down any cash after all the glowing reviews of the 108.
 
So, i actually had a chance to try Headrush's "FRFR"-108 MKII at a friends' yesterday, plugged to a ToneX and an American Strat.

I didn't came even close to cranking the amp (loud AF), but it actually... sounded pretty nice :eek: Was really surprised by it too, because my only experience with Headrush beforehand was the original "FRFR"-112, and i haaaaaaaaaated it. This one though? Really lush and warm sounding. Completely unexpected.

Now i have to seriously consider this thing.
 
Please keep us informed. I'm kinda in the marked for a battery driven small FR thing and don't want to spend a lot before I have tried out what I plan to try (a little bit of busking that is, something I've actually never done before).

Edit: Oh, I see, it's about the 108. I was more interested in the "GO".

I was reading this thread because I am interested in the "FRFR" go for use with a Pod Go, and I have seen mixed reviews on it. Do you think it’s worth it, for home use? Does it sound good?

Haven't been able to try one yet 😥 It looks like a nice little "FRFR" for home use, and i have no doubts it'll sound fine.

A number of reviews noted the "FRFR"-GO doesn't get very loud for a 30w amp, with the speaker flubbing when the volume is cranked.

Is anyone using Blue cabinets? I m looking at powered cabinets, a travel rig. Any recommendations on powered 1x12 or 2x12?

I think it’s the million dollar question since nobody here has hands on experience with it. Are you new to the whole modeling thing or just TGF?

Hm, no extra in then, just L/R.
As bad as it might be that I have to do so for a start, I've been in several situations when I had no decent monitoring for myself, so I asked, say, the keyboarder to provide me with a splitted signal (I always have DI boxes with me to cover such situations) so I could hear him through my (own) wedge. Impossible with this thing (unless you add a little mixer, which I hate having to deal with).

You should look into the little stereo Roland Keyboard amps. They’re the opposite of sexy, but I’ve had good luck with them for personal monitoring, and usually plenty of inputs.

Yeah, they're quite good actually. Played them every now and then as a keyboarder I ocassionally gig with, providing the PA as well, has 2 of them them in his arsenal and brings one of them for me as it's a train-travel gig.
I do by now have some other contenders, though.

Yeah. Thats why I went for the Catalyst. Not as good a monitor, but provides me a built in backup also. I miss being in stereo so badly, but these days I think less than 10% of my chances to play out can support it.
