Compact FRFR for home?

So, i've been considering getting a small FRFR solution for a small office-studio room at home. At first i was considering the TONEX Cab, just because of size... when i realized i'll never need anything close to the power those speakers can produce.

I noticed we have a new bunch of "desktop" FRFRs offerings available these days - f.ex. the Headrush FRFR-GO - and most are reasonably cheap, too:

Has anyone tried these yet, or similar devices from other brands (Positive Grid and Hotone come to mind)? Maybe something like the Boss Katana Mini-X instead? Pls help me not to order crap! 🙏

Headrush seems nice and is also battery powered so that's true portability, and its in inexpensive

Yeah, 30W + Bluetooth + battery power at $150 sounds like a really good deal.

I'm liking what i've seen so far, but i need some first hand reports on how the thing sounds. I hated Headrush's FRFR-108 and FRFR-112 with a passion, but as far as i can tell this seems to be a brand new design, instead of a repurposed PA speaker.

Why not just a single near field monitor?
 
I mean its not going to sound Terrible its like a practice amp, if I say want to chill and noodle on the porch then yeah great option

But I have the Spark 2 on my desktop for all kinds of home purposes. I've used it as a "FRFR" speaker as well with very decent results. Wouldn't listen music through it but the aux input worked very well with a multi-fx unit. It does get a bit pricey if you add the external battery but I haven't felt the need for it as it's always plugged into the power strip on my desk.
 
I don’t think you can beat the Headrush for price unless you go down the rabbit hole of finding a regular Bluetooth speaker that isn’t complete shit. I picked up a used Roland Cube Street for $100 which does the trick but lacks Bluetooth.
 
I think a Spark or THR is the solution here if you wanted to run it with onboard effects at times, and the Headrush if you're purely looking for a monitoring solution. Bluetooth is important to me with this kind of thing for playing along to tracks without having to start my MacBook/Quad Cortex, and battery powered is just as important because the whole point for me is the ability to grab it and play in my living room or front porch without any hassle.

It’s like saying I want something to do a job but not that thing that’s literally designed to do it best. You should probably reconsider.
