I run the loadbox into reaper all the time and use helix or AmpHub or even ndsp sims for things like doubler or the normal delay/reverb stuff. In fact a lot of time I think of picking up delay/reverb pedals it’s almost always instantly pointless because of how good vsts handle this stuff…. And I’m always tethered to a computer so no real pedalboard only use stuff for me
Specifically, loading down your tube amp with a resistive or reactive load, lined out to your interface, then using an amp sim (using either both preamp&poweramp sections, or just poweramp) in DAW to add to the tone (amp sim only, not FX).
If you did this real world, you'd be slaving one tube amp into another tube amp (which I've done as well).
Extra specifically: using two amps to create one tone.
Examples would be interesting. @laxu pointed me towards trying this setup as well so I’ll give it a go when I can. I just don’t like what my amps resistive load does to the signal.
