Pardon my ignorance for not really ever giving the newer iterations of Helix a fair chance. When going digital nowadays I usually use [and enjoy!] Tonex (the Tonex One pedal and the plugin), UAD Dream + Lion + Ruby (the plugins) and Scuffham S-Gear. Of course I also have a lot of plugins for FX in the DAW. I'm also one of those who actually still enjoy my good ol´ Axe-FX II.

Do you guys think there's really a point in buying Helix native now on sale for $199, compared to what I already have and enjoy and considering that Line6 probably is working on their next big release?

Or perhaps I should dip my feet into the NAM pool instead?

Take the 14 day trial tire kick and figure out for yourself.

If all you want is amp modeling, probably not. There are a lot of cool FX in their that work just as well on other sources besides guitars and basses, though.

If you “enjoy” the tonex software, there just may not be enough pain available in using helix native for such a professional massochist

There’s a decent chance that Helix Native will be at that sale price at least once or twice a year, if not for every seasonal sale.

It does have a 15 day trial, so you can compare to your current plugins.

I’ve got a Fractal FM3, the 3 UAD plugins, S-Gear, and I still like to pull up Helix Native because of the wide range of tones all in one plugin.

You need to hit the plugin at the right level though, approximately the same levels as the UAD stuff.

You can get it and check out NAM without a problem.

Wasn't it like $99 a month or so ago?
Either way, it's still a good deal imo. Loads of amps and effects for the money.

It's $49 w/ serial # now.
Damn.. if only I had waited 7 years, I could've saved a cool fidy
