Bush is back, baby

Glycerine is the very first song I ever learned on guitar when I was 14

In 2006 :cop
I used to play this with my brother singing and it felt awesome. Being a singer not a drummer or musician, he used to accuse me of changing tempo to mess him up. I was right on time (I drum too).

After a couple of accusations, I did do it and obviously. Because fuck you little brother!

LOL. Good times. I wonder if they still use Mesa.

It was. The guitar tone was pretty unique. Not saying it was the best but… when I saw they were using Mesa amps I associated Mesa with their signature sound.
Killer tones within the context of what was happening in music during that time. I keep meaning to chase down that weird fuzz he was using back then because I love the fuzz tones on that album as well.

At one point in the mid 2000s I think we were doing half of their debut album. Mostly
because the songs were kind of stupid simple..... which a lot of great songs are.

Little Things, Machinehead, Comedown, Everything's Zen, Glycerine.
Comedown was my fave..... because of that killer bassline that carries the song. :chef

Yeah, they were pretty much on Dual Recs right out of the gate. They’re all Fractal now.

I remember the original guitarist, Nigel, talking about using a Big Muff on the album and thinking he was cool because I knew Gilmour also used a Big Muff.

I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of “Comedown”, I’ve always loved that song. I was stoked when I joined that last cover band because it was in their set and I knew I’d be able to go apeshit with feedback for the solo. Funnily enough, I’ve never been a fan of “Glycerine”. “Machinehead” was a big one, that might have been the first riff-based song I learned around that time. Then I discovered AIC shortly after and learning riffs hasn’t stopped since!

That first album was supposedly a lot of expandora through I assume dual recs. It’s almost become lore at this point and, go figure, there’s a pretty inflated market for the original pedals these days.

I’m sure there’s Big Muff on that album too, or some kind of overlap. I’d love to check one out but haven’t crossed paths yet.

They have a new album releasing todayJuly 18th🤘

I still prefer the more raw, in-your-face this band had mid-'90s, but this is good shit.

I'm even conflicted about 60 Ways to Forget People, because it's ingrained in my brain and yet one step away sounding like a Sleep Token track (which i hate ). But... it works. Gavin Rossdale has a knack for writing memorable choruses and hooks.

Nice! Not a huge Bush fan but like them for sure. I’m also all for more “laptop-less” bands back in the mainstream (whatever that means now)

Bush had some great songs in the mid 90's, my middle school bands would sometimes cover them. I liked a lot of the songs off their last album too, which was surprisingly good.

I saw them open for Alice in Chains a couple summers ago and was really impressed. They did a mix of new and old stuff and the new songs actually were pretty good live. Then for one of the songs, Gavin took a wireless mic with and ran through the entire crowd, we're talking an outdoor grandstand, going up and down all of the section stairways, for the entire song. He barely looked like he was out of breath which was insane considering his age. I would have been dying just walking up and down the stairs.
