BOSS WAZA Tube Amp Expander Core (Reactive Load)

Looks like they still need to update the Mesa Boogie Dual and Triple Rectifier amplifiers are not supported. :hmm

It's all subjective of course but in a nutshell, sound and feel. It allows me to use my tube amps with speakers or IRs with Boss quality delays and verbs.. It allows me to use my modelers with the 30 watt power amp. It's become my freakin studio Swiss army knife.. I love Helix rack, my Axe Fx, myQC as well as my Marshall, Peavey Invective , SYN20ir etc etc.. They all work very very well with the Boss TAE core :sofa
Tell me more about using this with your modelers? I would love to use this with my FM3 and a couple of cabs. Is the output in stereo?

I don't have a ton of experience.. I tried it with mine and it pretty easy to do. I use mine primarily with my tube amps mostly because my amps are on the left side of my studio workstation desk and my modelers are all on the right side make routing a massive PIA. I can say I was pleased with how modelers integrate with the TAE

Leon did a good video on the TAE core. He touches upon modeler use.

Someone over on TOP asked about a bypass and it got me thinking...why wouldn't they have a "through" or bypass on the unit? I find myself wanting to use it as a DI to FOH but I want the head to plug directly into the cab. Thinking about it I don't see why you couldn't do it, essentially you are connecting to two "cabinets" (loads). As long as the impedances are reasonable close it should work right? I am talking 20-50 watts max.
The main reason I want to do this is the built in 30 watt SS amp isn't loud enough in some situations. But I still want the other benefits, mostly the DI with IRs etc.

It sounds good on paper, running the cab and TAE in parallel, but I wouldn’t be brave enough to try it.

As far as the amp is concerned, it’s two 8ohm loads. What the TAEC does on the other end of it is its business.

John Suhr said you can cut down the volume of an amp by using the Suhr RL as an “attenuator”, by plugging it in one speaker output, and a real cab in the other. I believe Cliff has said the same for Fractal’s reactive load.
