I play pretty much high gain all the time. No experience with the Fractal gates, but I’m not disappointed with it compared to the Helix options.

Same here. I actually think that the GT Noisegates are pretty decent. They never even once got in my way at all but just work all the time. I've got three saved as global blocks (yes, I am aware of the global noise gate threshold option), they're inserted in my clean, dirt and acoustic patches. The clean and acoustic ones typically have the threshold set so high it serves as a bypass but I can slightly dial them in once playing in critical venues. As said, works extremely well.

I was needing two gates with the Helix so I could get noise reduction before dirt/amps and after. Only need the after-amp one since I can trigger off the input. It looks like they addressed that with the stadium, but didn’t do most of the cool input sidechain stuff.

Btw, here us the setup i did to play Dream Theater’s « pull me under ». Honestly it sounds marvelous through G12-1755 with a EMG 89xr in a single coil mode:

EQ1 (param - lo gain 0 - hi gain 0 - level 0 - lm freq 80 - lm q 16 - lm gain +9 - hm freq 250 - hm q 16 - hm gain +3 - locut flat - hicut flat)
EQ2 (param - lo gain 0 - hi gain 0 - level 0 - lm freq 800 - lm q 16 - lm gain -10 - hi freq 2k - lm q 16 - hm gain +2 - locut flat - hicut flat)
EQ3 (param - lo gain 0 - hi gain 0 - level 0 - lm freq 2.5k - lm q 1 - lm gain +3 - hm freq 6.3k - hm q 8 - hm gain +7 - locut flat - hicut flat)


Did it long time ago, probably could improve and make it less whammy on some freqs. But overally i like it. Also Metallica’s sanitarium sounds great through it.

Yeah, BOSS got sued and now the poly tuner is history (if you do the update, which nobody will do)
