Lotus by Soen. I've been listening to it start to finish for 3 days straight and nothing else.
Parts Floyd, Tool, Porcupine Tree circa In Absentia, a hint of Queensryche sans opera vocals, and so much other classic stuff.
Not the easiest first couple of listens but then things start catching. I haven't read the lyrics but musicaly it's very concept album like.
Lots of motifs get repeated to varying degrees between the instruments and vocals - which are killer btw. Think 10 era Veddar
before he started thinking too much about his delivery.
Very sublime album that just gets better and better with each listen.
This is the last track on the disc. Trust me though, this album is a start to finish listening thing so commit if you're interested.
