Watched a very interesting MLK documentary that walks through the last couple years of MLK’s life through interviews with those around him at the time.

It delves heavily into the struggles he faced advocating for a non-violence based movement while competing against other movements that had materialized through the mid-late 60s that were moving away from non-violence because they felt progress had been too slow.

MLK was extremely forward thinking, I think impressively so. They show an old interview recording during a march where he discusses his avoidance of the term “black power” because he felt that the term could be easily interpreted as seeking favor instead of equality - something he suspected would draw increased backlash and ultimately work against the goals of his movement.

The guy was one of a kind.
