This is my 4th SE Custom 24 since early March, after finding some great prices on some cool finishes that are either discontinued and/or getting harder to find used or new.

This Turquoise Quilt CU24 popped up on Gearhunter and I knew it wouldn't last long so I immediately bought it and had it shipped.

The quilt top veneer looks like tropical island beach water and even has what looks like water droplets and swelling ripples amongst the waves of quilt.

The guitar is in impeccable shape and plays wonderfully after a much needed truss rod & bridge adjustment, fretboard treatment and string gauge increase and detuning.

The pickups are the stock 85 S set, and my original plan was EMGs...but I'm still deciding.

I love that they don’t hold back on the SE tops, it’s entirely what caught my eye when I went into a GC one night to buy a Taylor and walked out with the SE. I didn’t get on with the neck after getting my Strats so I sold it to my best friend so I’d still be able to play it on occasion.

Hahahahah when I got home with this I sent a pic to my dad because I was all excited about the top on it, his reply-

“Oh man, too bad they fucked up that bookmatching, that would have been an amazing guitar and now it’ll sit on a wall because it looks like shit”

“Well, it’ll be sitting on my wall looking like shit because I just bought it” :rofl
