All Things ToneBender!

I don't have any experience with JDM pedals. Tbh the first time I'd heard of them was when you posted the MKII they'd built for you in a different thread. Always good to hear about more helpful European based builders.
Joe (Doc) from JDM is awesome. Spends part of his year in Maine and the rest of it in Germany. I have his Elektrika (OC7X with Mk 1.5 TB and Zonk toggle), DocTone (based on the Jordan Bosstone), and the JDM Buzz Hound (Buzzaround inspired). He built me a custom MkII TB after I described to him what I liked and it sings. Quality of the builds is stellar. Doc is very accessible and very helpful.

I love fuzz and use Wren & Cuff (all muffs), Analog.Man (MkIV and Mk 1.5 Sun Benders and BART Germanium Sunface), Basic Audio (Zonk, Gnarly, Marq Won, Zippy), DeadFX I Can't Feel My Face (Univox Super Fuzz), and Dusky Electronics Augustus (Octavia). JDM fits right in this group in terms of sound and quality.

Should have a Behringturd Fuzz Bender tomorrow. Excited, was on the SW “notify me” list and they came in, I had a gift card. I know it’s Behringturd, but I thought it sounded good. If I don’t like it, I’ll flip it like everyone is doing with their Centaur knock-off. Some really cool pedals in this thread!

Mod mode is unusable. Loving the regular though!

This MKI is crazy good if you like artifacts and decay. BUT, depending on how you play it has ridiculous good snarl.

I’ve got an EQD Park Fuzz and a Catalinbread Katzenkönig which is a Tonebender meets Rat kinda deal. I still want a Mk II and 1.5. Looking at an EQD Barrows for a cheap way into the Mk II platform.

@dronerstone
How did you like the EH Bender Royale ?
Definitely not bad, and fun to play around with - didn't make it on my board though, because I got the EQD Zoar around the same time.

Two different animals, that's for sure. If you haven't played a mk3 Bender before and you're ok with EHX, you could definitely give it a shot.

It's very tweakable and sounds legit.

I personally prefer the mk2 character, but everyone's tastes differ, fortunately. I had a Twin Bender on my board for a long time, the Zoar can get in the ballpark and do lots of other stuff as well, so it "won".

PS: Both the EHX Bender and the Zoar (like most current EQD pedals) have a dual-action momentary/latching footswitch. I love that feature!

Nice man. Cool that the Zoar knocked the Twin Bender off your board. Always cool when a new fuzz piques THAT sound. Awesome.

The Zoar is such a cool pedal. My wife got me one last year and it’s a lot of fun. The weight control takes it from morr traditional distortion to fuzzy goodness.
