I got it cause every now and then I do gigs where I need the QCs looper always on top, then I need something else to switch sounds. I have another controller, but QC doesn’t give power over usb, this is battery powered.

The good:
Battery powered
Seems a solid build
Easy to configure
Wireless
Bonus usecase: I sometimes use a BT pageturner for charts on my IPad, this can do that also.
Normal and longPress functionality
Multiple message per event
Cheap

The bad:
Defenitly not “all you can imagine” with regards to what it can do.
Some silly ommisions..exp pedal input not configurable in all the modes it offers

Without the recievers it’s 15,- eu…so not much to complain about ;)
If your looking to add some switches to your 3 switch modeler…good option!

Been using one with a Vp4 for a few months. Done a load of gigs with it, It’s decent and so far been reliable. Would recommend the chocolate plus. You can import/export settings and also use it as a host.

I've got one (not the new plus version).

For what it costs, it's a steal.

But I only use it at home. Live, it would be a worry for me... The footswitches are 62mm spaced. Big foot nightmare...

Edit: and... The host function of its wireless accessory doesn't work with my NC. It works with zoom pedals, but in a tricky way. Sometimes it works, sometimes doesn't. And I don't know why (tried powering up order and whatnot).

I've been looking at these recently for a quick and cheap controller for my old G major.

Do the midi dongles draw power from your device, or do they have an internal battery?

And can it send PC and CC at the same time?

I have one of these, too. Ridiculously cheap for a rechargeable wireless anything. And the tiny form factor is great. Mine mostly sits on a shelf though, because I don't like the switches themselves. ("CLACK.") The HOTONE Ampero Control 4 is better in this regard, but it's much more expensive, and not rechargeable. (Not even so much as a battery compartment. Which turns "wireless" into some kind of weird joke.) Once you're in Ampero territory, it's worth spending a few more dollars and going for a MIDI Captain, with more switches, battery power, better programmability, etc.

Are you sure? I also have a wireless CME WIDI transmitter/receiver pair, and I'm pretty certain the QC powers that via USB MIDI. (The M-VAVE receiver doesn't draw current from USB MIDI per its own design.)

Yes, I remember the expression pedal input being more or less broken out of the box. This was annoying for the amount of time I wasted trying to figure it out, more than anything.

Cool - this is the first I'm hearing of the Chocolate Plus. Can anyone give me an example of how you would use it as a host, rather than a client device?

I’m not sensitive enough to be bothered by Clacks ;)
I also own a Luminite M2, which is far more capable..still the battery power and ability as a wireles pageturner for iOS probably will keep it free from dust.

Maybe if QC does provide power over usb…and the M2 can also be a pageturner (it does midi over BT…so probably)…I may have bought this for nothing ;(

I was…untill you asked the question ;)

I may have confused things here. I see you've got both transmitter/receivers in your picture - the USB one and the MIDI DIN variety. The CME WIDI gets power from QC MIDI; I'm not sure about USB either way. And I have other dongles that have their own internal batteries, and need to be kept charged.

Been using one of these for months to add extra stomp-ability to my HX stomp. Works great, no reliability issues

The battery life is not as advertised, at least not on my unit but thats fine as I just keep it plugged in permanently to the USB port on my ciocks
