Greetings,
I was gifted a Washburn "Dime 333" explorer style guitar. It features a green / tan camo pattern over a black background, with the word Trendkill boldly present.
The guitar was brand new when I received it and I have never gigged with it. But, it is an interesting instrument and because it was a gift I'm not planning on selling it anytime soon.
However, this guitar does have a "separate-able" feature that I've heard may be of interest to owners and collectors. so, I am open to opinions about the following:
The "backplate" on this guitar was autographed by Dimebag Darrell.
I understand that he signed 200 of these covers for distribution / inclusion on these guitars.
I've also heard that some "333" guitar owners have separated the backplates and have actually had them matted and framed as a tribute.
So, my question is: Is this singed backplate of interest and value?
If so, while keeping the guitar, (and not considered a sacrilegious act) I would consider separating the signed backplate and offering it for sale.
Your thoughts are appreciated.
Thank you.
