About my obsession

I didn’t catch it at first, but a few threads into the journey I had a suspicion. It’s all good, I’d much rather interact with somebody who has an unusual obsession than somebody with a messed up attitude.

Could be much worse. Having a string obsession is no big deal I guess, unless you also have to buy new strings continuously too?!
Anyways, just be yourself and occasionally we do joke around here.

Side story... my sister-in-law is highly autistic with severe mental disabilities leaving her to need 24/7 assistance. On top of that, she became blind later in her life from banging her head back and forth. My wife will pick her up once a month and bring her to the house so she can have a little bit of a break away from her care home. She doesn't communicate well at all, and mostly rocks back and forth in a chair, but she will let you know when she's hungry or needs to go to the bathroom. Occasionally she'll break out into singing something (can never understand what she's saying though) which makes me smile. :giggle:

Ahh, gotcha.(y)
My nephew has autism and has just started playing bass.
He got inspired by going to local hardcore and metal shows in Delaware. I love to hear his stories about those shows and the cool scene they've got down there.

I used to be a moderator on a longboard forum years ago, we had an autistic member that got totally hung up on ballbearing specs in the same fashion as your current obession. It's cool. You're not harming anyone and certainly not being a dick about it, all good.
Links to threads?

It's part of my autism. I have a tendency to get stuck on certain things. It can be hard for me to let go. I know it's a odd thing to obsess over.

Dude!

You should have told us from the beginning; we thought you were a bot that was specifically testing this forum with only string-oriented messages.

I will go and answer your bass-string-boiling question now.

Have a good day, sir. 🎩👌

Thanks for persisting through our stupid jokes, but I knew there was a real human in there!

I actually didn’t and am glad to read this before I took action on the account!

@strings2000 you’re all good here, bro! Don’t be offended if we merge some of your threads together just for housekeeping’s sake, but you’re on a forum with good people who will step up if someone is giving you any grief over your posts. Apologies if our snark when we weren’t sure if you were real or not came off as rude!

Thanks for the welcome.

This is why I never gave you a hard time over it, I recognised it, and as a father of a daughter with ASD and ADHD....I totally get it mate.
