50th anniversary Nevermind The Bollocks JCM800

aw man. but... cocky snotty sloppy are all my favorite things. but alright.. fair enough. yer still alright by me.
I have weird hot takes about certain bands. Always have ¯\_(ツ)_/¯The raging cockiness combined with slobbering barely able to play junkie on bass realllllly just always rubbed me the wrong way. I don't like the music in this instance and it all kind of compounds into a thing for me. Probably kind of my version of me asking you what hair metal bands you liked :rofl

i honestly would have no answer for that question! though i might say 'the melvins'

fully get it, though!

they definitely did a confrontational thing, and i can see it being tiresome. but if you ever find yerself willing to give it a whirl, it really is a super solid record with good, albeit minimal, musicianship and its a ballsy one with great production and playing, unlike all the drama! (i also think sid didnt play a note on it.. jones did bass, iirc)

If you listen to the live stuff, Sid became a solid bass player once they started touring. He would not be the first person to be handed a bass because a band were desperate for a bass player. Tina Weymouth from Talking Heads, Flea, and Peter Hook from Joy Division learnt on the fly, just like Sid, as did many other bass players.
