Boeing;
Wings ; japan
Engines ; UK
All electronic components; China.
Costs = up
Answer = Airbus.
Results= higher cost and no business outside the tariff zone.

If you can’t compete without tariff barriers there is no trade outside the tariff zone. We can add tariffs too. The result of this would be to make yourselves considerably poorer and irrelevant to the rest of the world. What about financial services??
75% of the world economy is outside the USA and 95 % of it’s manufacturing. That’s an incredibly weak bargaining position.
Once again not political just counting.

The "funniest" part is that tariffs for some companies might be an incentive to delocalization... those that currently produce in US might be forced to open another factory elsewhere to avoid tariffs and remain competitive in the rest of the world.

Sounds great!

Now, if all the countries around the world would -0- their tariffs, it would be nirvana for everyone with G*A*S*...

:rollsafe
Well let’s see… if I get a guitar from Norway or the US to Germany it’s 3% on price and shipping plus 19% value added tax.
That goes for used stuff too.

If I buy new from another EU country it’s 19% on price.
Used its 0.

So yeah the tariff on US goods I’m fine with, the highway robbery VAT I’m not. And it’s not even as bad as Hungary where it’s 27%.
In comparison Switzerland is 8 ish.

The next thing is distributors and dealers.
And that’s actually a big one. Your typical European guys think they need to make a higher profit margin than the manufacturer.

Well that was true before Brexit. Now Airbus is trying to figure what to do about the UK built wings.

We will rejoin as soon as politics will allow but it the meantime l’m sure we will come to an understanding that replicates the previous situation. The Politics of Brexit was lies and disinformation and it has no majority anymore.

The original Statue of Liberty is in France and the Bald Eagle comes from Canada mmm🤔

The boards compared to everything else is not much.
When I was at THD the owner wanted to get all small US manufacturers get together to label amps “assembled from domestic and foreign components in the USA”.

Because some of the guys think putting the chassis in the head shell constitutes “assembled in the US” was even funnier when it says “Made in the USA”.

Anyways, the transformers and chassis, were locally made O-netics, now where does the material of those come from?
The boards were US made, pretty much all components were imports.

I mean tubes what are the options? Not buying from Russia, crazy tarif on China, leaves Slovakia etc…

It’ll get past down to the customer one way or another.
Can you remember how the parts factored in to the cost?
Like, roughly how extra costs in purchasing parts would drive prices for the consumer?
