Welcome. And no.

I swear I've seen a post identical to this in some forum.
You're from TGP, right? I think I'm quite sure who you are actually..

No.

EDIT: Also you rated the Ge300 and GP-5 both 10/10 in the Dimension/Weight category. One of these is a full blown floorboard and another has only one knob and is as big as my member. What is the rating criteria here lmao? You just throw out some random numbers which have absolutely no meaning behind them..

1. Flavour intensity - These pack a lot of punch, you’ll be breathing down carcinogenic E numbers towards your friends and colleagues with little effort 8.5/10

2. Flavour quality / taste - Satisfying and yet totally synthetic. 7/10

3. Balance - No subtlety here. These are a strong punch in the gut. I’d rather fewer crisps more spread out than something subtle. 5/10

4. Authenticity - It tastes like steak flavour, not steak. 6/10

5. Aftertaste - I mean, you don’t want to be known as “Roysters Breath”. Still, as long as it’s on your own breath it could be worse. 6/10

6. Repeatability (addictiveness vs fatigue). These tend to be found in smaller packets so they do well here. 9/10

7. Texture compatibility. The bubbled texture is interesting but the size of each individual crisp and strong flavouring mean youre probably going to just stuff these down your gullet naked (the crisps I mean, but you do you). 2/10

8. Availability. A mainstay of your local corner shop, probably in a box on the floor. Mainstream availability is more hit and miss. 3/10

9. Price-to-value. Always fairly priced and cheaper than what “big crisps” want you to believe is a fair price. What you lack in packet size is made up for in synthetic flavourings. 8/10

10. Branding & presentation. They lean into the “American” marketing with their flavour options and red/white/blue stripes, and calling their crisps “bubbled chips” on the packet (which we all know is a type of crisp). The only thing un-American about the experience is the smaller packets and otherwise modest and understated branding. Veers more on the classic than the loud side. Iconic, and a crisp for the people. Never seen them advertised. 5/10

Oh boy, I need a freakin' table. I left out anything older than current gen.

Overall quality8788756

Notes:
  • Tonex One gets only 8 for dimension/weight because it's gimped in usability by its small size. Helix Floor loses points because it's huge.
  • FM3 scores poorly on footswitches due to the low number, but gets one point above Hotone because they are more programmable. AM4 gets better points for footswitching because the layout works well.
  • Fractal EU pricing loses them points. Helix scores above QC because you get more for your money - better spaced footswitches, expression pedal etc.
  • Tonex One doesn't rank high on overall quality because its fx are mediocre, captures while good sounding kinda suck to work with, the software sucks etc. Its main appeal is that it's very compact and cheap.

That’s a much more thorough writeup than this thread deserves.

I’ll be in my corner, enjoying my (by the internets) unloved Nano Cortex instead of whatever it is we’re doing here.

Who is he? And why the rejection?

Sometimes I feel like I skipped two seasons from these forums. I lack a lot of lore 😆

Okay I have to split up into multiple groups. For all of them, my ratings are based on current state meaning an older device like Helix that no longer gets updates will have lower ratings there but because they are cheaper the price rating may be great. I'm also only rating devices I owned so no Stadium, no newer NDSP units, and no import mystery boxes.

Here Fractal takes the cake because of the high quality across the board. But don't sleep on Fender Tone Master Pro which is an excellent unit that can still improve if they built out reverbs. Quad Cortex is still a great unit as it's catching up and has awesome size but dinged for bad power supply and flimsier build. Helix units are showing their age as they are no longer updated but are still very solid and cheap nowadays. Boss is a really cool compact unit and available cheap but very dated.

Here Fractal again wins on overall quality across the board. HX Stomp is still solid but is aging and no longer updated. Headrush is surprisingly still being updated despite being old. Boss is fine for effects but limited and honestly not a great value compared to the full size. IK units can have great amp tones but the usability sucks and the effects are minimal. Kemper I just can't rate highly at all, it has no screen to make adjustments, they are price gouging for the Player updates, and they have been treating customers like trash for the past year.

GE300 has a 20 FS, a expression pedal and a big colour display in a small footprint. The GP5 has 2 knobs, 1 FS and a colour display in a micro size pedal. So both made the most of the minimal space offered.
