“Eruption” Take 1. Live Studio 1. Unmixed - Van Halen (1977) Sunset Sound

Fun fact- Eddie makes a "mistake" (one note is a half-step higher than he intended, and tabs never show it), and wanted to do it again. (Everyone was like, NOOOO! IT'S FINE!)
When he goes for the first note on the 17th fret, he hits the 18th, but just 1 time.

Hahahhaha just think of the band leaving the studio that day, completely unaware of what just got put down on tape. Ed being unhappy with his performance and for the other 3 dudes in the band, hearing Ed tear it up was already a regular thing, they’re just waiting for their turn to record and want to get on with it.

I certainly hope that dude thoroughly understood/understands his role in music, guitar playing and gear.
