Yes, Warren DeMartini Used A Fender Super Champ For His Solos On "Out Of The Cellar"

Did he push the front end to get the sustain or?
I saw them live on their 1st major tour right after Round and round blew up on MTV -talk about timing!
Whitesnake opened and Ratt were using Laney amps then

Further proof that:

1. Anything goes in the studio
2. If it sounds good, it is good

And 3. You would know. :beer

(In case anybody new/new-ish around here didn't quite get my meaning, Lefty nails the sounds of these guys like few I've heard.)

Not shocking at all, and totally agree that 'anything goes' in the studio. We've heard so many stories exactly like this over the years, and there seem to be very few notable guitarists that have used the same gear live as in the studio. It kinda makes tone chasing an artist's sound a bit futile imo. The essence is in their technique and melodic sense.

Legends are great for a reason.

Jimmy Page played Stairway live using a double neck. But there are rumors that he used a Telecaster while recording. Even if he was handed over a unitar, he would have made it sound pleasant.

He used a few guitars on that track, including a 12 string (could have been the Gibson). Telecaster is definitely the lead guitar.

True, but let's be honest here...an early San Dimas Charvel, Rivera-designed Super Champ and Orange 4x12 with EVMs are all premium quality gear. Probably around $8-10K in today's market. So it's not a conventional rig, but it's a very high quality rig nonetheless.
