keep trying SD-1’s and I just don’t click with them, something that makes the distortion sound messy and congested. Tubescreamer or Klon always works better for me

For boosting applications, I've really just been enjoying a Parametric EQ lately, primarily to cut lows and add gain to the signal. I may cut the highs if things get too bright.
