None of mine are centered on the tips. They're slightly down the finger, and they're all shifted toward the next smaller finger, the first finger being the most. My ring finger is the most centered.
I know this off-centered-ness is because I use my fingertips to mute the adjacent string.
I also have a minor one on the side of my first finger, next to my fingernail, where I hold the pick, and one on the knuckle of my fret-hand thumb, where it contacts the neck, from when I can't keep it resting directly behind the notes. Which is a little too often, since I actually have to trim it off with toe-nail clippers.
