What Amp Have You Had the Longest?

My first amp, which is this Yamaha solid state amp (G100 Mk III) that I bought in 1986 or 1987. Louder than hell and equally as heavy. Have found out in more recent years that these have been highly regarded in jazz guitar circles and also as a pedal platform. The distortion was not what someone wanting to play Ratt would want :rofl

Probably was my old late 60s VOX AC 30 combo which I sold last month to a friend who made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.
He then did his back in loading and unloading it into his car 🤣
It weighed a ton and had never been reliable .
I bought a nice new VOX AC 15 head and still have a good few squid left over to spend on a new VOX speaker cab .

Definitely my Fender "Evil Twin" that I bought around 1999/2000.

I bought it after doing summer jobs and my dad helped a bit. Unbelievably expensive for me at that time, but I had a strong urge and didn't get that it was an overkill amp for me as a teenager. Couldn't even carry it like a man, but really wanted to have it... 😂

A classmate worked at the store, so I got employee's discount (20% off).

A few years in, it started acting up. Intermittent crackle and pop, fizzle, whine, all the perks it's notorious for.

It stood still, collecting dust, sadly, for a long time, until I got it fixed up by a local tech a couple years ago. I'm glad I did, because it sounds awesome and older me appreciates the big iron. Works great on its own, but also as a power amp for Helix or preamp pedals.

I remember reading the infamous "distortion" channel is somewhat Mesa-inspired, not sure about that though. The cleans are absolutely stellar, that's for sure. ❤️

Good thing I held into this.
