Talk to me. All I have right now is an SD-1. Sounds great but I can already tell that the yellow suits Marshall better than the Californian seeking some fresh greens. What should I try?

Any one of the green pedals seem to always work well with Rectos. The Horizon Devices Precision Drive is one of my personal favorites.

From my experience, any RC boost alike pedal (clones are just as fine IMO) is doing a great job on pretty much all amps. Pretty flexible due to the bass/treble tonestack, can add little bits of gain on it's own as well. Used my original RC for 1.5 decades and bought 3 more clones ever since, all in use (2 on my main pedalboard, one on the smaller iteration, the original was sent into retirement due to scratchy pots and a too large form factor). They might have a little less character than other boosts, but that's what I actually like as it makes them the ultimate utilitarian boost, working with any amp from completely clean to hairy, to classic rock to metal.

i have to do a boost shootout one of these days with my triple, im not even sure what i like most. ive heard the od1x and suhr koko boost are two good ones i dont have

Pepper's Dirty Tree - This and the Recto were made for each other. It's so good. It's a clean boost with wide-Q Treble and Bass knobs.

Boss GE-7 - My favorite overall boost. No internal clipping components of its own, just a lot of signal boost with the ability to tailor your lows, mids, and highs.

What is the input impedance on the Dirty Tree?

Back when I gigged a Recto a klon style pedal was my favourite boost. These days an EQ or a TC integrated preamp/Fortin grind style circuit tickle me pink.

I compared a few here.

Fortin gets some hate but their grind or 33 is made for the recto

The Blade is very similar but with adjustable high and low filter. You can pretty much match the 33 with the right settings. I ran tests when I received them.

My understanding is the Dirty is the TC Integrated pre also but with two modes, one fixed and one adjustable. The Fortin pedals measure at 4meg on the input so I am curious what the TC and the Dirty Tree measure.

Ah yes I love the Blade! I very much did not like the DT on either setting. Just wasnt for me any of the 3 times I had one lol

No idea! However, the Dirty Tree is basically a two-in-one pedal that clones a TC Integrated Preamp on one side and a Fortin 33 pedal on the other, so it probably matches whatever those pedals use.

Personally I never use the 33 side though, just the TC side. The 33 is basically a TC preamp with hard-wired treble and bass settings. The TC mode gives you more flexibility. Bass controls tightness (Bass at 3:00 is neutral so it's mostly a bass cut knob), Treble controls aggression (treble at about 9:00 is neutral so it's mostly a Treble boost knob). It's an excellent pedal.
