Duplicate post sorry, I put it in the clips section but pfft.

I've been seeing a lot of people say the Uber Ultra can't do fast death metal so I wanted to put it to the test.

I've been using amp Sims and cell phones for years and this is the first time I've tried to really mic my own cab. First test ever, first mic position ive tried and im not mad at the results. My cab is in my living room with zero treatment and not isolated so it does sound a little hollow.

I just imagine the results in the hands of someone who can actually mix well and knows how to really mic a cab.

I did 2 guitar tracks 100% L/R with my Jackson MJ DKR with an SM57 and a very shitty sounding bass up the middle with a tonex sim.

HPF and LPF on the guitars around 90 and 12k.

Compression on kick and snare for volume, Compression on bass for consistency. Very basic mixing.

Anyway im curious what people think of my attempt at fast metal with the ultra, maybe not the best thing ever but I like it quite a bit. If anyone that knows how to mix wants to fuck with it lmk.

I think it sounds pretty darn great, and the playing is awesome, too!

I'd lower the volume of the drums perhaps so the guitars stand out a bit more. I have no other suggestions. Nice job!

Thanks, not the tightest performance ever. Been a little sick this week. I did learn though the better and more accurate the take the more clarity I will get. This was just a first run test, anything I ever plan to release would be 100%.

Will try your suggestion on the drums. Very basic mixing knowledge and not the best studio setup for it.
