Tone talk with Jake E Lee

Drinking games with Jake and Dave. :guiness

Ya they are not just sipping beers either. I will say Jake is pretty cocky saying he is better than Lynch and Dave is certainly biased towards his artist who chose his amps. In any case fun to listen to!

Yup. Very entertaining.

Apparently George struggled learning Randy's parts from the 1st 2 Albums,
and that is why they ended up choosing Jake over George. They had George
on the road working with the band during soundcheck and he just couldn't
get on board. :idk

Id take Jake any day over Lynch.
Never "got" the love for Dokken or Lynch?

I swear Lynch wanks just to wank.
Thats what I do.
He's better than that.

He does. NTTAWWT. I knew my time with Dokken was up when I heard "Burnin' Like A Flame" :wat

I read it was because of his short hair (he was a working stiff back then and had to have short hair for his job)... didn't have the "look".

Also, I think Jake had all the moves down (stage presence) even back then; he was a master at that.

George Lynch: "Initially, the one negative I heard from their camp was that Sharon thought my guitar looked like a booger. I had this green and black Tiger, actually the first Tiger I had made before I made my yellow-and-black one and I thought it was a pretty silly reason. Also, Ozzy came into my hotel room at one point and he said, 'Why did you cut your hair?' He was really bummed that I had short hair. I was actually doing a day gig as a liquor delivery driver and I couldn't have long hair, so I had to cut my hair. I could've bought a wig but he was bald at the time, so his argument didn't carry a lot of weight with me. So there were those two things. Yeah, I think it was image for them. I had the songs down and I felt confident that I could play everything like I needed to, especially once I got comfortable. I think really the linchpin, no pun intended, in me not getting the gig was [drummer] Tommy Aldridge's opinion of me, and I think he was right about this — he thought I was this kind of animal that really needed to be in my own band, that I'm not one of these guys fits into anyone else's project very easily. He is right about that; I've never played in a cover band or under anybody else's rules..."

Anyways, it was ultimately better for George to get passed over, because the Osbournes fucked over Jake and other members.

"Someday; you'll help us egg Iron Maiden!"
:wat :poop:

Ok I'll settles this once and for all before we get this thread back on track -John Levin (current Dokken guitarist) blows current Lynch and all eras of Jake away! :rawk :guiness

As for the Podcast Lee is really dismissive of any guitarist and the more he talked the more I found myself forwarding the episode.
Even Dave excused himself at one point. Lastly all Ozzy guitarists live in the massive shadow of Randy. Following those 1st 2 Ozzy albums we checked out and started listening to Metallica Anthrax, Testament and all things thrash,. so there ya go!

Oh man, not this hot take. Again. :hmm

I am sure in 100 years time guitarists the world over will still not agree with you. :rofl

Oh, and what Dave did is called "Taking a leak" where I come from. :idk

As we both know; I'm a big fan of hot takes. But who can get through Don's absolute dogshit tier singing at this point to even try to discern what level Levin plays at? :ROFLMAO:

Yes don's vocals suck and I would not pay to see them but Levin is a killer player!

Over the Mt and Flying high again solos broke the mold with nothing even close!!

Jake is likely too full of himself to admit it but I guarantee Zak would fall down and Randy's feet, Bang on fellas! :beer
