Sweetwater now carries... Suhr *

I look at today's ridiculous prices for what amounts to "just another fucking guitar" and my eyes hurt from rolling in their sockets.

Here we have $4,000 super strats and teles. :rofl:rolleyes:

But it's not just Suhr, pretty much everybody; they can all go fuck themselves.

Glad I got what I got, and if I ever want more, I can build it myself for about 1/3 to 1/2 that price.

The fact they are that expensive says a lot about guitar-centric music today, and where it's headed.

Everything is expensive these days, that’s kinda what happens when you tank the economy.

I'd love a Suhr, but at the $3299 lowest price listed on Sweetwater, not going to happen anytime soon...
Like the previous poster, at those prices, I'll just stick with the guitars I already have.

.... I dont subscribe into the J. Suhr ideology.
Tell me what that is.

Apparently, I insulted him over at TOP™ and he stopped posting there. I had no idea it was him and his question in my thread made it clear that he didn't read my opening post.

The funny thing is, someone could argue "well, supply and demand". But in the case of guitars, they'd be wrong.

Because there is an unprecedented supply of guitars out there at various price points; including the used market.

Hence my "they (manufacturers) can all go fuck themselves".

But hey, who knows? Maybe I'm missing the fact that the nut is made from 10,000 year old mastodon penis, or something.

The cost of materials is just as stupid as everything else. Freaking 2x4s are $4 a stick in my area. Before the plandemic they were under $2 all day long.

Bro, these nuts are made from the dug up bones of the Apostle Bartholomew. Apparently, his diet was higher in calcium so he got the resonance. That slacker Andrew, didn't eat his Mediterranean veggies and the osteoporosis in his femurs lack that mojo.

Companies are now charging 1, 2, even 3k for Indonesian Cortek guitars with their logo on it, and most people don't seem to be that bothered by it. I'd get your standard production US guitars now for under $3k while you still can :idk

I’m bothered by all of it, and I’m extra pissed off that most people don’t care how bad they turn the screws on us.

Well in a nuttshell the Suhr ideology would be "we do other guitars better than the other guitars therefore we can charge up to 4+ times higher and we know you want us too. Signed : Babinga Jones.

The market ultimately dictates the price. Since Suhr is doing well, people generally are okay with their prices. Also, with the smaller companies you’ve also often getting much better customer service, and there is value in that as well.

Suhr fucks up guitars just as much as anyone else. His stuff is the definitive "boutique" niche market.

I’ve never had one of his guitars in my hands, but he’s far from the only one building high end versions of Fender guitars.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from.

I can't imagine they're twice as good as a standard production Ibanez or Charvel. I'm skeptical they're better at all.
