Strymon teasing new pedal

@Whizzinby They are due a Brigadier repackage sometime this year and I read elsewhere that Strymon had registered Brig as a trademark i.e. potentially a Cloudburst sized version with tweaks. I have been waiting for this!

- Track 45 left. Stop.

- Enhance 15 to 23.

- Give me a hard copy right there.

It looks greenish perhaps? Colour hue looks like it could be in the Brig ballpark.

Although it is too late for me now that I gave up waiting and bought the Memory Lane.

Is it too late though? :satan

Terrible photoshop skills in that image around the Strymon "S". Pedal probably had the box next to it!

Seems logical theyd take an algo from the Timeline.

Someone threw out a wish list for the tape deck side of the Deco, which would be cool, but I cant see them directly competing against themselves with something like that. Makes more sense to either deep dive a single algo from one of the large boxes, or preferably do something new. (Was hoping the small form factor would be more experimental or unique)

It damn sure doesnt look like the Iridium v2 High Gain edition

Brigadier repackage in their small enclosure would be cool! I've always dug the Brigadier but never pulled the trigger cus at the end of the day it's just a (nice) basic delay pedal. But make it small, and I might put it on a board.

Dig the Blade Runner reference!

Yeah my guess was also Brigadier/dBucket algorithm of Timeline. Color looks similar to Timeline.

Check out what's peeking from behind the Ola in the background.

So expect a Brig pedal!

Credits for finding this go to The Gear Page member ry-guy.

Now, all I need to avoid buying this is to just not watch Walter White's Pete Celi's "deep dive" video when the pedal launches.

Lord Celi always has me reaching for the wallet. Hopefully its the new guy doing the demo :rofl

And hopefully it’s actually not a Brig lol

But honestly, it's probably a pass from me. I do kinda want a Deco V2 tho. I've been hoping somebody would sell theirs used but so far no luck.

So, Brig or DM-101? Kinda different purposes, yes. But both analog-(flavored, yes I know the Strymon is digital), both MIDI. Brig will be cheaper, if the Cloudburst is any guide.

It all comes down to personal taste, desired pedal footprint and features really. There's no one true answer here.

But based on the original Brigadier and recent upgrades to the pedal line e.g. ARM and JFET inputs + what we've seen from the Cloudburst, pretty sure I would have been all over this new Brig, if I hadn't just bought something that's tonally in a similar ballpark (Memory Lane isn't stereo and doesn't have MIDI though). Pretty sure this new pedal is going to be right up my street.

I’ll probably end up with both :D

But yeah it’ll be interesting to see what it is. I love the three v2 Strymons I’ve got.

I’m curious if it is indeed a Brig if it’s meant as a replacement of the standard form factor Brigadier. Doing small form factor releases that deep dive one aspect of the large boxes makes some sense, but for the standard format pedals it just seems odd to compete against each other separated by $50-75. That is unless they just shrunk the entire pedal down, and they intend for this to be the only Brig.
