Somehow I’m a Police fan now

What about Sting's solo stuff?

I’ve actually always loved that “Desert Rose”, there’s probably a ton of others I’d dig, but with Copeland being such a draw to The Police for me I’ll likely keep my feet dangling in Police waters for a while.

The Police are awesome. Three killers.

Stranger Things usage of Every Breath You Take brought them some real hype with the kids. Walking past my daughters room hearing that blasting makes me like…

If FZ lets you get on stage with his band, and uses that one off performance in an official release, you obviously have talent! Police have never been my favorite (I have problems with any authority figures), but I have always appreciated what they did and got a LOT of play out of Reggatta de Blanc! First song I ever performed at an open jam was "Message In A Bottle" (I was the stand in Sting on bass but did not sing it - lucky for the crowd) ;~))

Yeah, I can certainly enjoy a bunch of Sting tunes, but it’s almost a crime to not have Copeland playing on them. I totally get the opposition between them and Sting essentially wanting a drum machine just keeping time without intruding, but come on now, “Wrapped Around Your Finger” should be a testament that Copeland only makes shit better. Or “Walking On The Moon”, which is now permanently embedded in my head, “Du daaaaaaa……da dat do dooooo” is on a loop in the background 24/7.

Sting has had some MONSTER drummers. Vinnie Colaiuta, Omar Hakim. OOF. Problem is the songs were not usually ones screaming "CHECK THIS KILLER DRUM RIFF!"
I always liked the Police. But Sting's solo albums through Ten Summoner's Tales got way more play from me. The police were always on the radio, but I don't think I ever owned any until I picked up the Box set. The musicianship on all of it is top notch.
