I am old and a lot deaf but el34 amps to me have a smoother mid range I think of as a scoop.

I’ve never played either one. But if I have a choice between an EL34 amp and a 6L6 amp I will take EL34 every. single. time.

El34s are great. And the EVHs are good amps. The original 5150 was the first amp I played through that blew my mind and as such, it's on a whole other plane consequently

Got you! Thanks man. Yes Sir the first time I played the 100w head, I was in awe. I was able to crank it a bit and it sounded great. I bought the 50w heads largely because of that. And They have the resonance knob which is great for condo playing levels. It’s an easy way to make them sound fuller at low volume IMO.

I am so entrenched in 112 land over the past, 10 years? that I don't ever feel a lack of resonance of gut punch because I just don't play that music on a live front anymore. I have heard good things about the 100 watter but those things look HUGE where you'd almost need a 6x12 for the cab to fit on top
