Rush Announces New Tour!

Just saw this. I'm torn but yes, I'll be there if for no other reason than I haven't missed a tour since 1984. I haven't heard of the drummer Anika Nilles before but I actually like the idea they'll have someone covering keys. https://www.anikanilles.com/

Edit: Damnit! I'm out of town on the show dates!

Are the hiring a new singer?

I LOVE Rush. Geddy's "singing" historically speaking 1000% included. But I am not going to see them without Peart and with Geddy still croaking it out in that "I'm still trying to sing in the original key" thing he has done for years; pass. Must be closer to lunch time than I thought? :ROFLMAO:

Some things just have to be done. I found a way to go in a different city.

I'm speculating unlike the last tour where they decided to cover their entire catalog, Geddy will mostly stick to more range friendly songs. I also wouldn't be surprised if he gets some vocal assistance from the keyboardist.

Glad for Alex and Geddy to get out and do what they obviously love to do. It’s not Rush without Neil. Personally I wish they would have called it something else, but I hope they have a blast and the fans enjoy it.

I mean yeah, I don't disagree, and they could have called it, "a night of Rush music with Ged and Al", or something like that, BUT, because of who they are, they can do whatever the eff they want, lol.

Thank GOD, the NYC shows are accessible to me via a train ride, and they are during the week, although, I would have taken a night off from the band, or QUIT the band, (lol), if I had to, to see this show.

P.S. - this will be THE most scrutinized drummer, in the history of music :rofl

The fact that anyone gives a fuck about what they call themselves after 50 years is hilarious to me.

Equally hilarious is anyone who is familiar with them that thinks they would do anything to tarnish their legacy. Two of the most genuine, humble rock icons ever.

BFF's 4EVER! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

I just heard this and I'm pretty excited about it. Obviously there's no way to replace Neil, but I'm glad they decided to continue his/their legacy. Maybe they can get Maiah Wynne from EoN to guest on a few that Ged has struggled to sing in later years, lol.

I was actually starting to get sad about Geddy. Alex has been busy with other projects but Geddy seemed to have abandoned music for other pursuits. He and Al are a great writing duo and I hope they squeeze in a few new ones.

Hope they'll be somewhere near me at a time I can attend.

I think this is awesome. Very happy for them and you can tell they're excited about it. Enjoy life, do the things you love while you can.
