I bought a set of humbuckers off Reverb.com in early January. When I received the pickups I quickly realized that the description in the seller's listing did not accurately describe the pickups the seller sent me. I reached out to the seller asking for clarification and the seller was unresponsive. I also asked for a refund, which the seller denied. So I reached out to Reverb support. I explained how the pickups did not match the description. I had to write multiple email to Reverb support, and search the interwebs for photos to show how the description did not match what I was shipped. This morning, after about 4 weeks of emailing back and forth with Reverb, Reverb gave me a full refund in "Reverb bucks" credit on my Reverb account and let me keep the pickups.
It took a lot of effort to secure this outcome, but how can I not be happy with the solution? I would have preferred a refund to the card that I used to make the purchase, but these pickups are interesting, even if they are far removed from what I thought I was receiving. I don't have an immediate use for these pickups, but they are a custom wound set from David Allen and they appear to be in new condition. I'll find a home for them, likely in my Godin XTSA, which has "meh" factory Seymour Duncan HBs installed. But I consider this a win, and a great example that Reverb.com is committed to creating a safe market place. I am aware that some people have not had a great experience with Reverb.com, and this is not an attempt to obfuscate Reverbs other failures. I just wanted to share a positive experience . . .
