I picked up a HDRX 20 and I’ve got to say that it’s really, really good. I really like the mid gain boost and the bright switch. It is just an excellent example of an early Marshall. A nice American Strat straight in is the absolute bee’s knees.

It seems well built.

The preamp tubes are PCB mounted but the power tubes are chassis mounted.

This is what the Marshall Studio SV20 should have been. Highly recommended.

Yeah, I have played through one a couple of times, and have come thisclose to getting one…but it’s LOUD! :D

Still might do it. For the price it’s hard to beat it.

I need another amp like I need an hole in the head but….Ordered 😎.
Are you using an attenuator with it? I have been eyeballing the Boss Waza TAE Core.

I run mine through an OG TAE, but the master volume does work pretty well. The Waza is mainly because PRS chose not to put an effects loop in the fucking thing.

I had one for awhile. It’s a great sounding little head

They sure are, but not the most versatile thing out there. I took mine to a rehearsal a while back just to force myself to "old school" it, running straight in and using the shit out of the volume controls on the guitar. I actually kinda liked it, though it did take some getting used to.

That’s pretty much how I roll with my other amps so it should work out great. I am looking forward to having a nice Plexi sound in a small package that kicks a$$.

After having this for a couple of days, I don't think I really need an attenuator, at least not for gigging. It seems just about the right volume for playing with a band with some pedals etc. It's fun at home though with the TAE. 😎
