Popped into GC yesterday. I am unnaturally drawn to weird metal guitars.

Saw this guy on the used rack. Picked it up on and off about 4 different times. Played GREAT. It has this weirdo headstock. Wouldn't be a candidate for trumpets. Not sure why these types of guitars speak to me :wat Maybe runt of the litter syndrome in guitar form? :rofl

I actually like the headstock. The inlays are a little "uppity" for my taste :D but that's a good-looking guitar!

(A flying V with an almost invisible extended cutaway. Will wonders never cease!)
Yeah I was a bit torn on the inlays. I did a bit of research and while they are no longer available; they retailed for $100 less than what this used guitar is marked at. I might call and see if they can haggle it down. If not; no biggie.

I can't get used to this new trend of guitars (Schecter's, no less?) aging like fine wine - and being priced accordingly. :(

Yeah; I laughed a bit at myself thinking they will probably tell me to go take a leap and that prices are now what they are. We'll see :hmm
FWIW I just attempted to haggle on the Martin I bought and they were not having it. The intel I was provided is that GC will not discount used gear until it’s been sitting for 90 days.

Never hurts to try though, especially if you can show them their pricing is whack.

I need another V like I need a hole in my head if we're being honest. The finish and the EMG set are kind of what I am using as justification

Actually; I think I see why they are mistaken and have it priced higher.

It's this Satin Silver color:

They are saying it's Rusty Gray which is this model/color:
So you're saying the the Satin Silver should have been less expensive? I'd say you might be able to use that information to get them down on price, but (as EOEngineer noted above) they probably paid the last owner too much, and won't sell for any less.

I much prefer the more understated Satin Silver over the Extreme™ Edgy™ Rusty™ Gray. If you went with the latter you'd have to buy a whole new wardrobe in urban camouflage. :rofl

Yep the pics don't look near as good as the original manufacturer pics but it's definitely the Satin Silver, NOT the Rusty Gray they are listing it as.

(P.S. I foresee this guitar being yours for a very reasonable price after the 90 days has elapsed, and they realize it's not going anywhere at their current price.)

I Hope Please GIF

The old "let's shop for a $4k PRS I'll never play but trip over what should be a MIK V for 4 bills" trick:rofl
Cheap guitars FTW! Don't knock it, man. I was sitting at a shop playing that $2600 (used) Guthrie Govan the other night, when a little voice in my head said, "I'd rather be playing my tree-fiddy Jem Jr right now." Sometimes taking a leap (walking away, that is) isn't such a bad idea. :D
