Panoverb Discrepancy

In Fender’s official reveal video of the new Panoverb amp, Jack goes though the features and plays the amp for us. Its tone sounds like a great overdrive, even when demonstrating the amp with “drive off”/set to zero.

Yet in any other demo video of this amp, even when using the same triplecaster guitar like in this video, players find a beautiful clean tone. Nothing like fender shows us in the original video.

I’m wondering what happened there? How is it that Jack never manages to play a clean tone in the original video, and no other YouTuber testing the amp manages to get an overdrive/dirty tone? Sure, the dude is one of a kind and can make some signature sounds just through playing, but I don’t think that’s what’s happening here.

I’d imagine Fender wouldn’t want to mislead the public at all, and I can’t imagine Jack would sneak some signature pedal into his demo, so how is it he seems to be playing a different amp? Appreciate the feedback!

On one hand you have Jack who slams the fuck out of his strings and on the other hand you have John who plays with more dynamics. Fast forward to 28 minutes in the video with John playing and you'll hear the Fender guy saying that exact thing

Time stamp? I couldn't seem to find that section. I see the amp gain up halfway during the timestamp you've linked.

Jack likes the built-in boost always on and keeps it on(except for a second in the beginning) throughout the video. With the amp volume past 12 o'clock.
Add bridge humbucker and hard playing and you don't get much of a clean tone.
I've seen other videos getting the amp to drive... Nothing misleading here.

Whoops, didn’t intend to time stamp the video, but 2:30 was the no drive demo.

And yes, I caught that too about his playing, I just assumed someone one stumble on the sound in a test. Maybe it does lie in a maxed volume/drive as someone just mentioned.

Fair point! Funny that a clean tone never comes through though, even on the no-drive demo in the beginning.

It's fairly clean when he picks a little lighter demonstrating the tremolo. But yeah he slams those strings hard. :)
