Yup, I know...and it is a crapshoot if it works properly or not. I get it.....problem is I got burned on one that was suggested and supposedly working perfectly...it wasn't. I am getting this one for diagnosing some of the tube issues at work as well for some amps that come in as well as my own amps. It's simple enough to use and when I have owned the first version in the past it found a few tube faults which saved me a lot of trouble.

I bought the original for $450. Was never sure it was useful.

For me it has worked great, matching tubes. Verifying the correct ones for phase inverter position and warn and faulty ones.

I have several amps that have rectifier tubes, that verification is missing from the original..... but man looking at this new one you have to buy an additional attachment just for Rectifier tubes!!!

A big FU to Orange for this.

This is 100% true for a preamp tube. If you do that with a power tube, you will blow a fuse or take out a resistor if the fuse doesn't catch it.

We would have to test every tube to catch one.

Even new amps.

My brand new 6505+ had an arching 6L6 right out of the box. Took out the grid resistor.
