One last Christmas GC. Do I want the Keeley Blues Disorder or the Super Rodent?

Specifically for boosting the Multiwatt. I should be instant on the Super Rodent because RAT and historical SD1 compatibility with Rectos. But the clips of the Blues Disorder OCD side are VERRRRRRRY compelling. Thoughts?

I'm pretty much a Maxon OD808 kind of guy when it comes to Rectos.:chef

Are you looking for something more on the Clean/Pushed/Vintage.... or just boosting Modern?

Or all of the above?

I want something to boost pushed (whenever the mood strikes) or Vintage mode. I'm listening to these clips and the Blues Disorder is honestly winning out big time.

That's multiple pedals for me. Something with more of a low-end cut to use with Modern
is not going to sound as well with Pushed or Vintage, in my experience. I'd snag something
more full-range and flat for Pushed and Vintage.

Pushed and Raw are both fairly weird for me. Like you craft your whole thing around that single mode and act as such. Super surprising in Mesa land, I know :hmm:rofl

I have the SD1 and some TS variants at home. I actually like the RAT clone I have barely cracked open on top of Vintage to give it some sizzle. Of course; not Dancing Queen riff appropriate :grin

Man, didn't even get to pass the ball around to all the kids before you shoot and score, JT!

Feels like Noble Screamer would be the best boost and Blues Disorder would be great with a cleaner amp. No idea on Super Rodent, one is a boost and the other is a hard clipping drive? I dunno.

I'm super weird about buying a TS styled anything. I have the Caline Pure Sky which is TS-y. I have the Grid Slammer as well but I don't like it with the Recto for whatever reason? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I own both the blues driver and the noble screamer. These pedals didn't really deliver what I was expecting from them.

The blues drive actually has more mid range push to it than the noble screamer. The BB side of the blues drive suffers from the same low volume that the original BB suffered from.

I have a really good OCD pedal, V1.4. It ate the blues driver, easily. It was pretty easy to tell that they copied the OCD circuit with the HP/LP switch on LP. I like it on the HP setting, which isn't available on the blues driver.

For what you are looking for I am betting the noble screamer on the noble side would fit better. Or, go super rodent.

Good to know. I will keep an open mind about it either but I'll be taking advantage of the return policy if needed!

I’m late to the party, but I really like the Rat for boosting a Dual Rectifier. That circuit can add some of that Marshall kerrang to the upper mids - can yield awesome high gain tightness with extra percussiveness.

I have the super rodent on my board but rarely use it. The Protein dual overdrive and Purple Plexi are much more satisfying and useful regardless of the amount of amp distortion.

This is the case with my KK, BL, MK7, and JVM. I don't have a multiwatt recto.

Yeah this thing looks great but is not impressive at all on the audio side of thing. I love me some OCD klones too but for this amount of money; hard no. I'll probably find a different direction for the GC funds to go instead of high dollar dirt pedals.
