Installed a set of Dimarzio Sixties PJ pickups in my Talman.
The housings are based on Billy Sheehan's Relentless set, and they're awesome. Certainly good for bassists who might manhandle the instrument when needed. Sound wise, it was lower output to the point of conservative (for lack of a better word) compared to the stocks. But that's the intention. Gove the bass a vibe like a good 60s/70s PJ while looking like an Ibanez. This goes hand in hand with my Squier CV 70s Pbass (currently with flats).
Thinking of replacing the bridge with a Gotoh vintage style 203B4 and either replacing the preamp or gut it as a pure passive traditional bass.
Also still planning on replacing the pickguard but currently undecided. For the longest time I was set on gold, but now thinking plain black might look better.
