Found this one of FB Marketplace, only 250 miles away! Practically next door, considering it's from Poland. Traded an unused modeler and some $$ and it's all mines! Seller can't play thin necks, and bought it via Reverb - said that was the only thing he didn't like.

Ruf follows a similar formula as Aristides, although it's of course their own composite resin - but there's not a single atom of wood anywhere. They only seem to have 2 models, this Schrodinger and a V style. They do have three different tiers where you get more options, etc. Here's a link to some of what they've built.

This has Hipshot bridge and tuners, EMG 85 w/volume, stainless frets, magnetized rear cover and a richlite board - done to simulate lizard scales, lol. I've never owned a single pickup guitar, nor a reverse headstock - at least that I can remember, lol. Fretwork is very well done, no sharpies and level up and down the neck.

Got it home and wasn't super impressed with the sound, had gobs and gobs of relief and the pickup (EMG 85) was really badly slanted.

Put new strings on it today, fixed the pickup, tightened the piss out of the truss rod, etc. etc., and wham - sounds really good now!! Action is now uber low with miniscule relief. Never had an EMG 85 in the bridge, but it sounds leagues better than the 81 I had in the Jackson I moved along last year. Still highly likely that I'll change for a passive pickup, but no rush. The output jack is on its last legs, and the one and only thing I don't like is the output jack location. It's too far around the bottom towards the rear, very close to getting in the way playing in classical position.

Can sorta see how bad the pickup was slanted, but it was worse than it looks here!

Was listed as EMG 81 but saw the previous owner's Reverb listing, saying it was an 85. Proof!

Badass. Congratulations, Man! That thing just seems awesome. I had not heard of these guys, but I love the idea of non wood guitars. So how would you describe the tone compared to other guitars you've played?

I would never know this wasn't wood. It feels, plays, reacts and sounds like any other guitar.

Was interesting when I adjusted the truss rod, every string moved very similarly (in cents). Generally, I may see more affect on D and G on other guitars. I guess the uniformity of the composite material is in play!
What is the weight like? Looks interesting.
Light! I only have regular human scales, I'll try to compare myself with and without holding it later. Going to guess in the 5 to 6 lb range?

Oh, I somehow forgot to mention, this is a chameleon finish from gold to lizard green with the carbon fiber appearing and disappearing.

Back is straight gold but neck is chameleon, without the carbon fiber.

Super glossy and so reflective that I struggled mightily to capture it well. It doesn't look as dark on the wall as it looks here.

That's badass man! Cool finish and love that neck & head. Nice touch with the magnets too. :rollsafe I guess they don't interfere with the sound.

How did you deal with the PU slant? It looks direct-mount.

Nice score. You been doing some driving lately.

Thank you! I messed with the foam. It has springs on the direct mount screws and two separate pieces of foam with big springs.
