NGD Had To Do It Again

So I got into a car accident last week. Had a couple deals in progress but had to bow out due to a broken arm. I don’t need amps/guitars when I can’t even play.

Wake up this morning to my buddy texting me that I’ve helped him out a bunch and he’s returning the favor. Bought me a guitar.

Suntech Pro LP.

If you’ve been around me, you know Suntechs kick ass. MIJ in the 70s, Matsumoko guitars. Always wanted an LPC from them, never seen one.

My boy found it.

Anyway. Stoked to be able to play again; stoked that it’s THIS guitar. I can’t fuckin wait.

So I really wanted to go head to head with all of this.

The Cap on the left is my #1 and has been for over 4 years. The Cap on my right showed up quick after the 1st one and was my 2nd. I have another Cap baritone and it’s sick but this Suntech killed it.

It also killed the Cap with the Fishman. I’m gonna need to replace that pickup. It doesn’t work for me. The 81 slays for everything, the Fishman is too nice for everything UNTIL I drop into lower tunings which is the exact reason I bought this guitar for.

Nope. I get that it’s an sig pickup. I get that it’s exactly what HE wanted and that’s ok. HE wanted all the same shit that makes this guitar fantastic. It’s ok.

It doesn’t work for me.

For Crowbar, Acid Bath, Eyehategod, Pantera etc…

It doesn’t work.

Between the 3 of them, the 81 works best IN THAT GUITAR. The 70s Duncan works best IN THAT GUITAR.

Need to rip this generic POS out of there and find what works in this guitar. Does it work? Sure. Is it amazing? Sometimes. Is it those things for me? Nahhhhh.

I’m open to suggestions for an alternative. Keep in l’m 51 and have doing this for a long time. I’m not gonna be surprised by an Alt8 or whatever. Tried most of the BKP lineup and one of their current offerings happened because of something I ordered. MCP? Yep.

Still have both of those; just found the GT at my mom’s place a few months ago, played it for about 3 hours and took it home with me lol.

And that one? This is the guitar I send to broke friends with the condition that when they get back up they chuck a sticker on it and send it back. It’s got a lot of stickers lol
