Steven Wilson’s eighth studio album, The Overview, sees him return to the genre that made him famous, Progressive Rock (although his 21st century version incorporates everything from glistening electronics to monumental post rock).

Containing two wildly ambitious twenty minute tracks, there are nods to the expansive, sky-bound sound of classic Porcupine Tree, the intricate storytelling of The Raven That Refused To Sing and the forward thinking electronics of his most recent solo releases.

The album’s tracks, Objects Outlive Us (including a movement with lyrics by Andy Partridge) and The Overview, are made up of distinctive musical sections that flow from one to the other to play as their own continuous pieces.

Available in a variety of formats, including CD, Blu-Ray and black vinyl.

We also have a half-speed mastered limited red vinyl edition and alimited deluxe 2CD-A/Blu-Ray earbook (with 96-page book) exclusive to Steven Wilson’s official stores.

Pre-order for March 14 release. All pre-orders will include, at random, one of four exclusive postcards.

Looking forward to this dropping!
I hope it’s better than his last two offerings and his latest Porcupine Tree album 🤞🙏
I’m really interested in hearing the Andy Partridge lyrics as I think he’s a brilliant song writer .
I’m a big fan of XTC 👍

He can do no wrong...

Prior to the album's release date, The Overview will have its world exclusive premiere at the BFI IMAX in London on Tuesday 25th February.

The music will be played back in immersive audio accompanied by a specially commissioned film by Miles Skarin that presents a constantly evolving series of visually stunning animated sequences documenting the vastness of space and the almost imperceptibly tiny part of it that the human race occupies.

Screened on what is the UK’s largest cinema screen I’m confident this is going to be a pretty mind blowing experience.
