Steven Wilson’s eighth studio album, The Overview, sees him return to the genre that made him famous, Progressive Rock (although his 21st century version incorporates everything from glistening electronics to monumental post rock).
Containing two wildly ambitious twenty minute tracks, there are nods to the expansive, sky-bound sound of classic Porcupine Tree, the intricate storytelling of The Raven That Refused To Sing and the forward thinking electronics of his most recent solo releases.
The album’s tracks, Objects Outlive Us (including a movement with lyrics by Andy Partridge) and The Overview, are made up of distinctive musical sections that flow from one to the other to play as their own continuous pieces.
Available in a variety of formats, including CD, Blu-Ray and black vinyl.
We also have a half-speed mastered limited red vinyl edition and alimited deluxe 2CD-A/Blu-Ray earbook (with 96-page book) exclusive to Steven Wilson’s official stores.
Pre-order for March 14 release. All pre-orders will include, at random, one of four exclusive postcards.
