New Gibson USA Les Paul Junior

Everything on these is good but there is less of it and that’s why it’s cheap. I wish more budget instruments went back to this philosophy. These were designed for students that couldn’t afford the LP standard or custom but still needed a proper instrument and they ended up in professional use since they came out. Same wood , same build quality but simple design that cuts down on quantity and time but not quality as a guitar.
Eagle you don’t half spout some shite man🤣
I was around when those guitars were cheap in the 1950s compared to todays prices and believe me they weren’t cheap then 😳Students in the uk and in America couldn’t afford them unless they were Ivy League rich kids.
You keep posting your same old detritus about Epiphone Squire Burns Sire and other makes of guitars being rubbish 😡
Be happy. In your small minded ignorance.Shabba.
Noticed you have more than one profile on here so you can post big up your own posts 😡
Have any of the mods noticed your other profiles on here?

I know exactly the price on them when they were released and what they were intended for.
Your posts continue to be “Carry on Clueless.”
In 1960 a Les Paul Standard was just under $ 300 and that translates to about $ 2,750 today which is fairly close to SRP now the Junior was marketed as the student model costing less than half at the time. Perfectly doable for a serious student. It was always meant as a cheap alternative for a serious student . Not the wood chipper shit you usually buy.

@Eagle I must commend your unparalleled ability to invigorate social gatherings with your presence. Rarely have I encountered an individual so adept at subtly diminishing the vitality of every discourse they engage in.

It appears that your purported three decades of experience have, regrettably, not extended to the cultivation of refined social acumen.

This is supposed to be a forum not a tea party.

I see Dave's anger management button is still not working.
Oh well, back on ignore.

I'll take Eagle & his luthiery experience + opinions (which I almost always agree with after 50 years jammin') over The Pics & No Clips aka All Gear, No Gig Hillbilly wannabes.

You know, like over @ VS-TGP, where the milquetoast clique has volunteered/paid to be control subjects to coexist & train/enhance AI Chatbots...

No doubt A-Bot will be excited for fake clones enhancing the "discussion" :bonk

Oh, you didn't hear?

Vertical ColonoScopy has been *actively* deploying Ai Chatbots to "enhance" their communities, Soon-to-come-to-you-know-where :rofl

Skynet doesn't care about your "feelings"...

Can I just say I don't gig anymore. I'm retired and haven't gigged in years. I still play for my own enjoyment and occasionally jam with a couple of mates maybe once a month or so. 🤷
On retrospect, I think I have become way too jaded watching the online muso communities devolve into discussions about gear-gear-gear!, all-the-time, 24-7, when I what actually crave is the *creative* spark music itself, sharing & enjoying it, punctuated with discoveries about some great tone sculpting tools/ideas, along the way...

The last 5+ years have been difficult, on a personal level, engaging in end-of-life care for our mothers, trying to blot out absolutely insane cultural noise, plus rescuing cats non-stop due to heartless "people" dumping them after the adoption blitz during COVID lock downs :facepalm

I'm on my 8th litter since the summer of 2022, not to mention adult rescues, I've never seen it this :wat since I started helping furbabies in 1990...

Four adopted out this week (we're certified on Petfinder/Adopt-A-Pet), with two more deliveries this afternoon 🐱

I'm fighting off depression, from all fronts, just tired of "humanity" in general right now, although I do know The Loving, Healing, Creative Power Of The Infinite has provided many wonderful brothers & sisters out there, I'm having a hard time *not* focusing on the rising tide of :poop:

TGF is the last muso forum I've been active on, recently, after withdrawing from TGP over the last several years & it's been blast to engage the "community" once again, but this thread & it's ilk have shown me it's *past* time to step back, engage IRL, as online I'm trapped into focusing on the noise-to-signal ratio.

So, please enjoy whatever musical "thing" you're able to appreciate ~ Illegitimi non carborundum ☯️

@ Funk Soul Brother. What can I say? I totally get where you're coming from.Depression can be hard to get through, I know from personal experience. I've lost 3 close family since last April. 😔
On a different note, I think your animal rescue efforts are to be applauded. Good on you 👍

Conversations like the CV set up and Dave wonderful contributions often make me think about quitting forums but then the wash of misinformation and misdirection win. For now I stay on but it certainly won’t last . At some point I will likely just stop . I often wonder why facts and the truth is so controversial and calling a pos a pos is a problem. Good luck and if you ever need to argue about something just log in again.
