Got to spend a lil bit of time so far. This is basically a hybridized C++/Mark III deal there’s a switch on the back to go between the two

Took a minute to get off the ground familiarizing the layout and switches but dialed it in like I would any Mark. Definitely sounds like a Mark! Compared to my III it seems a little darker or like there’s more low end that needs to be tamed. I will say that the GEQ is -extremely- sensitive (annd more powerful than on ann an anctual mark) and takes a bit more care in dialing in. As a test I turned it off and popped on my HX settings with the GEQ that I use on my III and then it was sounding REALLY similar. Went back to the on board on the Marcus and got more clinical dialing it in and it’s sounding pretty killer I think

I will pull the chassis out for gut shots later. Also I’ll try and do a comparison clip of all 4 amps. I’m lazy though so I’m just gonna grab a DI from our EP tracking and shoot it through each amp going into the captor and the same IR

Sounds like it worked out well and keeps up with the real deal well. I just messaged to see if my Dragon is close. I ordered December 16th, so hopefully it will be close behind @CorrosiveMatter. Will be living vicariously through you guys while I wait!

What's the general difference between the IIC and III modes?

It’s subtle but there

I’ll try and give a more detailed answer soon

Still only have had my initial 45 minutes on it so no new updates/opinions lol. Been somewhat busy today much to my chagrin

I did get a daw project ready, but then ran into some technical difficulties with my captor (read: me being stupid)

FWIW when dialing it in, the inverted layout and the toggles instead of push/pull I wasn’t really basing that on any preconceived notions but I just looked at my III panel, and I have the exact same push/pull and toggle configuration so I assume that means it’s accurate ? lol

I really like the toggles vs. push/pull knobs. Seems like it’d be more robust.

Looking forward to clips.

Also, this ships with 6P3S power tubes, which are an analog to 6L6 and 5881s

Definitely curious to try a pair of Mesa 6l6 in here

for some reason my captor won’t allow for reamping with it in use going direct ???

Removing the captor from the equation and sending the DI into amp/cab works fine. Try and go direct to daw with the captor it’s just horrible feedback and noise :wat

I guess worse case scenario I can make a loop in my rc500 and send that through instead

I do want to get these clips out fast don’t want to build any hype or expectations for how lackluster they’re gonna be

aw man, dont sweat that!
i wonder whats goin on with the direct out?

GUT SHOT TIME

I’m a know nothing, but it looks pretty good in here to me. Clips on hold til tomorrow as I’ve been drinking and don’t want to break anything/kill myself screwing the chassis back in

Looks cleaner than most Mesas :cop

Also: side tangent, I was struggling more with the EVM thiele than with the ported c90 Mesa cab. Sounded much better with the latter. Wondering if the neutralness of the EVM paired with the more sensitive GEQ was giving me guff. Was immediately more satisfying than the thiele
