I think I may even just use a poll...

Feel free to expound. I already made my choice but I will explain if we get some activity.

That suddenly made things veerrrrrrry easy :rofl

For me it's pretty much thump factor. I have gigged as low as 5w tube heads in the past and they were loud enough but even with a 2x12 or 4x12 didn't have hardly any thump to them. I totally gave up on low wattage tube amps. My last one was a 5150 III LBXII. Great amp but hardly any thump. After selling off my Pink Taco I have no more of them now.

Absolutely. I don't need anything super ridiculous but that extra bit of push on tap is much better to have and not need than the other way around.

50 watts seems to be perfect for where we are playing but I'm guessing we're a bit louder than most bar bands. Really though for me it's all about more speakers. I play through 2 4x12s at rehearsal and it's amazing. I wanna bring them to shows but am lazy and our set isn't long enough to justify bringing both.

Do you play them side by side or stacked up? I've always preferred side by side.

Well, I guess this all depends on what kind of amp I’m using. So let’s say a Marshall Super Lead, then yes, crank that fucker up and get those tubes glowing.

If it’s say, a Friedman with a master volume, then the latter.

I prefer amps in the 30-40 watt range, which has been loud enough for most gigs. With that said, I used a twin reverb or carvin legacy for years live. I've enjoyed 20 watt amps too, or a dual amp set up in that range which is fun. Depends on the band and situation.

I've yet to try a 20w that cuts it with a band for me. Gigged a few times with Peavey Classic 30 as they were common "house amps" around the country in the 90s. They were all right, especillay with a 4x12" :giggle:
