Has anyone heard Judas Priests' Rock Forever or other songs on the Killing Machine album and thought that was the heaviest double bass sound prior to 1978?
And yet, so few live performances or footage.
In particular, the patterns that are being played are ahead of their time on that song.
I always study this stuff quite closely, and no offence to Mr Binks, who passed away this year.
Most people credit Slayer's Dave Lombardo as being the Godfather of double bass.
But listen to that album, it's mind blowing how ahead of its time it was.
