Leon's VH4 Video

Anything past around 9 o'clock on the depth was way too much with my setup. Crazy how much low end is on tap with that beast.

The last couple times I’ve tried dialing in a Diezel in the Fractal I resign myself with the idea that I need to play the actual amp in person to understand how it’s “supposed” to sound. I get the idea it’s just not an amp I’d be into due to the mushy factor. I’m already heavy handed with my picking hand and want/expect a certain amount of stiff-ness that just doesn’t seem to be there.

I'd have to play one in person to know for sure, but despite Leon's great playing and other vids I've watched there is just something about the voicing or gain structure that's off, to me. ymmv

Wow. I wonder if that is another modern thing?? I have to put my depth at minimum at noon, but usually 1pm for me.

Just like all amps they won’t work for everyone but the DZL is unique
Too me it’s like they mated a VHT pittbull sharp fast attack
Dry as Mojave with the giant
Loose sub lows of a Recto
The preamp is extremely percussive and tight but then you get this giant low end
It’s interesting but when I played one next to a Bogner XTC , I was kind of underwhelmed that said it could also be the KT77 as it was a new model I believe the earlier ones were 6550/ 34s

Here you go, @Orvillain, you can look at it and say “Mine’s bigger than yours” now!

Hmmmmmmmmmm.... any details on it??????

Not yet, someone at NAMM posted it in a FB group I’m in. I’ve already asked if it’s a class D thing like the Bogner/Friedman, but if you zoom in on the pic, those look more like amp guts than what I’d expect to find in a class D thing. Edit- yeah, pretty sure that’s a tube on the left side. Edit 2- derp, yeah, that’s definitely a transformer on the right.

I have to say , Leon is such a laid back positive vibes dude , I got a chuckle at how annoyed he was with the front panel layout."
this is obviously built just to annoy the f** out of people.I don't think i have ever even seen him swear :ROFLMAO:

Someone got the Mini and made a clip.

I can't decide if the Mini is cute or "industrial ugly".

VH4's are terrible sounding amps. I realize my opinion might not be popular but to me the VH4 is easily the most over-hyped amp ever made.
Also, note that every well-known player who uses one blends it with other amps. Nobody plays them exclusively for a reason.

This is a VH4 thread though, so I'll stop talking trash about it here. Sorry everybody.

i agree :idk
