Just got this MJ series DKR and I am thoroughly impressed. Haven't had a modern Jackson in ages and this is pretty high quality 9/10 to me.
The neck carve feels a little different than my 90s guitars, maybe a little smaller and at first I was bummed but after just a couple of minutes of playing, feels great and a beautiful guitar. The pictures do not do this paint justice but I took a close up too.
Maybe this sounds odd but the fit and overall build quality reminds me of a 2023 Caparison I had, for half the cost. Definitely a killer guitar and happy with the purchase. I can't comment on the sound as my big amp is at the jam spot and I just use VSTs at home but the recording I made sounded good. Also cannot yet comment on how the tuning stability is after beating up the Tremolo a little, hopefully this one stays in tune well.
I would say the only thing I could consider wrong with it is the volume/tone knobs seem to rub on the body slightly when turned. Almost too tight of a fit, it's nit picking but it's a thing. Some circular surface scratches on the paint from previous owner but you cant even see it with the knobs on.
Need some time to see how the speedknob look grows on me but it looks cool to me after swapping. Also contemplating a pickup swap to black or maybe covered nickel if I keep the nickel played knobs.
Anyhow, can definitely recommend this guitar.
