JHS Riddle

Peak internet, someone posted an idea for JHS next pedal

I didn’t want the saturated tascam sound when I was plugging into an actual tascam. I wonder if there’s a market for this, or if this is just a desperate attempt to create a market via hype.

From what I can tell, there seems to be a bit of a niche market of artists who have been rediscovering these sort of sounds. And the Color Box seems to have been a big hit for JHS, so I guess it makes sense for them to expand on that with another console-ish pedal since they have some reputation there.

I’ve always loved the ‘80s direct-to-console clean tones and I have to admit I’m tempted by the idea of having a pedalboard with both an amp sim and a console sim I can A/B between…

What makes Mk.Gee interesting is his style of play and writing. His guitar tone fits the music he makes, but its not a tone I’d be chasing out of context.

JHS is a marketing company.

True, and not something I’d chase either. But guys said the same thing about amp distortion in the ‘50s so who knows

id be okay with a neve console emulation, but a gray plastic console with wiggly knobs attached to a cassette tape i might pass on :D
