instrument separator?

Hey gang,


Dose anyone know any free software where i can split instruments from mix?

for example... if i have a metallica song and want to remove vocals or bass or whichever instrument?

i tried few online sites and they suck living life out of mix......

You could try Rip X? Think they have a free trial. Does pretty good.
