Just saw this on (ewwww) FB. Supposedly legit?

I'll keep my eyes peeled for a gently used one

im sure they will sell a bunch but it'd be a no from me. 5150s as god intended with 6l6s or gtfo!!!!

Those Iconics definitely got an unfair shot when they were released. I’ve played through the combos a couple times now and like a ton of other newer gear, if those were around when I was a teen I would have had my heart set on one. Now with the heads popping up for under $800 used they’re certainly not a bad idea for a killer backup amp.

Kinda surprised to see an EL34 version, but I guess I’m not entirely sure what their target demographic is for these.

That YTr who really went hard pretty much went away completely after that whole thing

Me. I'm their target demographic. I owned and loved the 5150 EVH el34 amp and find the El34 variant of this style of amps fits my playing better than the 6l6 variant. To see a 100w 5150 el34 at $1000 is a no-brainer purchase for me.

Interesting. I have zero experience with the current Iconics. I’ve played the 50 watt EL34 5153 in store and dug it. I hear the 100 is a bit of a different animal and some like it more. My 5150 experience is limited to a 6505+ and two OG 5150s, a block letter (which was awesome) and a sig letter (which was even more awesome. That sig letter may have been the best 5150 I owned. Of course I played an absolutely AMAZING 6534+ once but it was gone within days of me playing it. Too bad really as I liked it a lot. I keep eyeing the 5150 IIIs though, especially the 50 watt amps. Maybe I should give one of these a spin when they become available. At least to try out it nothing else.

Anybody here seen or play one in the wild? I saw Kyle Bull’s actual demo and it seems to be more in line with what I’d like out of a 5150 amp. Just curious if anyone else has tried one yet. I love my script logo amp, but EL34s are always tempting.

I haven't, but I have played a 6L6 Iconic, and if the EL34 Iconic is just like the 6L6 but with a slightly smoothed out treble response like everybody reporting it to be, I bet it's a very, very serious amp.

If I could make any single adjustment to the 6L6 Iconic, it would be to smooth out the highs, which want to sit just a bit too prominent in that amp.
